Basic Wardrobe Add-on

What happens when you want something for a very long time? – then, sometimes, you can save up and deserve it. This black Mulberry Bayswater is now officially in my basic wardrobe. I absolutely LOVE it.

Pale Ale and a Tucked T-shirt

06/02/2010 by hfn

After art class and a rather productive session (my painting is by no means finished, but I still deared to post it here…), AND forgetting to eat for 8 hours, I ended up at Onion Creek (Houston, TX).

Now, I have eaten the Veggie Burger with a house salad and feel the Friday feeling coming to me. I love it! And the pale ale they have on tap, is just about perfect in combination with the food.

Although there is a rather disturbing “view” in front of me, at the table next to mine: – A man in his 40s has tucked his fluffy t-shirt well down in his trunks. I mean, I remember that I sometimes did that when I was a kid and it was so cold outside and you knew that you were going to play in the snow for hours…but seriously, I mean, eat your hand off…

Other than that? – It`s Friday. It is happy go lucky day.

10 years of ‘thinking about it’

04/02/2010 by hfn

This trench coat from Burberry has been in my wardrobe for close to 10 years after purchasing it in a vintage store somewhere. It is one of their earlier editions before they developed the typical Burberry pattern. Last week, I got it hemmed so now it fits like a glove (coat hehe!). My procastination in this matter is rather disturbing: 10 years with a plan to customize the coat a little… My boyfriend would faint, if he knew this.

Well, finally.

Here I am wearing it with Acne jeans, booties from Hope, silk shirt from H&M and a vintage pearl ring from Fretex.

Untitled Works by Kent Rogowski

Kent Rogowski has been a favourite of mine for some time. I love his playing artworks, the mix of chaos and order and the idea that something might fit perfectly even though you initially thought it did not have the right cut.

We Are So Good Together

“We are so good together” by Dylan Fareed.

Use 17 seconds:

  • to think about something you feel happy with today
  • to think of a person that you love
  • to stop thinking negative about bad weather
  • to look forward to something
  • to be grateful for something
  • to realle, really taste something you like to eat
  • to breathe

Familiar?

25/01/2010 by hfn

I visited a cafè/bar in Houston that had a lot of old, funny family photos in gold, heavy frames on the walls. And I must say, despite the poor quality of my iPhone camera, that it was so funny, and nice and embarrassing and tacky.

The Basic 30

15/01/2010 by hfn

In my humble opinion, I think that a basic wardrobe consists of 30 basic elements. Expensive, non-expensive, brand, no brand, design, re-design… it does not matter, basic is basic.

I warn you, this will be a working project with add-on`s as we go, so bear with me.

Another warning: this is a basic work-travel-party wardrobe, so the lush thermal underwear from Kari Traa or Helly Hansen Lifa, or Sorel Caribou winter boots, or Roxy rashguards and Nike shoes are not part of this.

A classic renewal

12/01/2010 by hfn

Today I received an email with this beautiful photo from Mulberry. Their new iconic bag, Alexa is about to arrive. I love it! It reminds me of a lot of things: the 70s and icelandic big wool sweaters, students and jeans in blue, Chick Corea and literature.

Are you living in a house with Wallpaper?

12/01/2010 by hfn

Today happiness came by mail twice: Wallpaper City Guide Oslo and Wallpaper City Guide Houston. When reading them, I discovered that quite a few of my favourite places was in them. Smile – smile. But, nevertheless, I have more to discover and experience according to the City Guides.
